Daily & monthly soft
Daily disposables for convenience and hygiene, or fortnightly and monthly lenses for regular wearers. We match the material to your eyes.
A contact lens sits right on your cornea, so the fit is a medical matter, not just a number you order online. We measure your eyes, trial the lens, and teach you to wear them safely, then fit them from our in-house optical.
Most people who want contact lenses can have them. The type depends on your prescription, your tear film, and how you'll use them.
It sits directly on the cornea, so an off-the-shelf power without a fit risks discomfort, infection and damage. Here's what a proper fitting involves.
Your corneal curve, size and tear film decide which lens will fit and stay comfortable.
We place a trial lens and check how it sits, moves and gives vision before prescribing.
How to insert, remove, clean and store lenses, the part that prevents most problems.
The lens that fits is prescribed and fitted from our in-house optical, with a review to confirm it's working.
At many busy centres, one person consults you, another operates, and a third sees you afterwards. Here, the same senior surgeon stays with you through your contact lens care, and every visit after.
Your sight is not where to bargain-hunt. Ask these of any practice you are considering:
At Dr. P. Siva Reddy Eye Hospital, the answer to every one of these is yes.
Third generation of a family Hyderabad has trusted with its eyes since 1975, founded by Padma Bhushan Dr. P. Siva Reddy, "the People's Ophthalmologist."
Because a contact lens sits directly on your cornea, the right fit is a medical matter, not just a power. We measure the curve and size of your eye, check your tear film, trial the lens on your eye, and teach you safe insertion, removal and hygiene. Buying a random power online and skipping the fit is how people end up with discomfort, infections, or corneal damage. A proper fitting protects your eyes.
Routine soft lenses in all the usual forms: daily disposables, fortnightly and monthly lenses, toric lenses for astigmatism, and multifocal lenses for presbyopia (reading age). We also fit cosmetic and coloured lenses with proper power and fitting. For irregular corneas and keratoconus, specialty lenses (rigid gas-permeable, scleral, hybrid) are fitted through our keratoconus clinic.
Yes. Toric soft lenses are designed for astigmatism, and modern ones are comfortable and stable for most prescriptions. We measure your astigmatism precisely and trial a toric lens on your eye to confirm it sits and rotates correctly before prescribing it.
Often, yes. Multifocal contact lenses give near and distance vision in one lens, and suit many people who'd rather not reach for readers. They don't suit every eye, so we'll trial them honestly and tell you if glasses or a different option would genuinely serve you better. See our presbyopia page for the full picture.
They're very safe when fitted and used properly, but the rules matter. As a general rule, don't sleep in lenses unless they're specifically prescribed for it, don't over-wear them, never top up or rinse them with tap water, and replace them on schedule. We teach you all of this at the fitting, because most contact lens problems come from misuse, not the lenses themselves.
Dry eye and contact lenses often clash, and the answer isn't always to give up lenses. We assess your tear film first, because treating dry eye can make lenses comfortable again, and we may switch you to a lens material or a daily disposable that suits dry eyes better. See our dry eye clinic for how we handle that.
Routine contact lenses and fitting are an outpatient optical service and are generally not covered by insurance. We'll be clear about that upfront. Medical and surgical eye care here may be cashless depending on your policy, send your insurer name on WhatsApp and we'll confirm.
Message us on WhatsApp or call. If you wear glasses, bring your current prescription; if you've worn lenses before, bring the box or details. Plan a little extra time for the first visit so we can measure, trial and teach you properly. You're warmly welcome in Himayat Nagar.
